From the President’s Desk,

Hardin FCU President Dick Wilcox

Hello, my name is Dick Wilcox and I am the President of the Hardin Community Federal Credit Union.  I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our credit union as members and partners and to commend your Board of Directors, Management and Staff for a job well done in developing a fine credit union.

The discussion to merge our two credit unions began in May of 2006 and came to fruition in December of 2008.  During that time the managers of both credit unions worked together to help facilitate this possibility but also worked well together on becoming friendly neighbors and helpful partners in this sometimes confusing economic world.  The purpose for the merger has nothing to do with the current state of affairs in the economy and actually began long before any of the downturn that we have all witnessed began.  Both of our Credit Unions remain very healthy and stable and this merger proved to be a win/win for both of our Fields of Membership.  Logan FCU members will benefit from our expanded product line while Hardin FCU members will benefit from another point of service in our area.  The end product of this merger will have our Credit Union positioned well with $50+ million in assets, 11,000 members, 3 branch locations and 10 ATM’s in and around Hardin and Logan Counties.

Currently, Logan FCU offers many of the same products and services as Hardin FCU, but I believe our new members will find those products and services to begin expanding quickly as we transition into one credit union.  Some of the new products and services that will be of most interest are the added branch facilities in Kenton, 10 ATM’s, access to CUSC Shared Branching and much, much more.  Please stay tuned to the website and newsletter as we begin to roll out our full line of products, services and benefits, and of course, please feel free to call or stop by anytime!

Again, this strategic move has taken a fair amount of time on both our parts but will bear fruit for all of our members very soon.  Hardin Community Federal Credit Union welcomes all of you to our Bauer 5 Star Rated Credit Union!  The Board of Directors and Staff of the Credit Union would like to thank you for your continued patronage.  We hope that you watch this page for future updates on new products and services, and I will write you all a quick note on occasion to keep you informed of our financial position and the progress we are making on adding the benefits that you, our Members, are asking for.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about your Credit Union.  We wish you all a Safe & Happy Holiday Season!

Dick Wilcox, President
Board of Directors

In today’s economic storm, credit unions are here for you.

Safe and Sound
Your credit union accounts are insured.

Ohio credit unions are stable, safe, and sound in the midst of the current financial services market. All Ohio credit unions provide deposit insurance to protect their members. Ohio credit unions are supervised and regulated by federal and state government agencies – the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and the Ohio Division of Financial Institutions.

Ready to Lend
Credit unions are meeting your lending needs.

Credit unions stand strong serving 2.6 million Ohioans, and continue to fulfill their members’ housing, auto, student, and small business loan needs. In some cases, credit unions have increased their lending to help more members. Recent studies show that credit unions increased their mortgage originations by 53% during the previous 12 months.

Here for You
Credit unions exist to serve our members.

Simply put, credit unions are groups of people who pool their money to provide lower cost loans and fees and better savings rates to one another. More than a customer, every depositor and borrower is an equal member-owner with a voice in the credit union’s future. With a philosophy of helping people versus making a profit, every penny of earnings is returned to the member–owners as higher savings rates, lower loan rates, lower fees, more convenient locations, new services, dividends, and more.
